Essential Reading for Live-In Carers!

As a live-in carer who loves working with clients of an upper age, I meet many different people in their 70s or more who find themselves restricted at home due to a health issue. I started reading this book to get some ideas for activities, but I gained so much more than that: I have also added like 10 ideas for my bucket-list as well, as I love the indoors, so this book satisfied me on many different levels.

This book is a testament to the retirement state of life being the beginning of, not the end of, something wonderful! It’s also my favourite alibi as a carer who loves the indoors to put so many different ideas to practice with my lovely clients.

I Love These Ideas!

What a great, comprehensive list of inspiration for people who have newly found themselves with extra time. Such great ideas from creative outlets to helping others. This would be a great gift for newly retired friends and family or a great way for someone to inspire themselves to put more meaning into each day of retirement. I love these ideas!

A Fun Read!

This book is such a fun surprise! Instead of the same old “retirement advice,” it’s full of creative, lighthearted ideas you can actually do at home. I love the mix of brain games, hobbies, and even ways to make a little money. It’s written with humor and warmth, which makes it enjoyable to flip through. If you’ve ever caught yourself feeling stuck or bored in retirement, this book will spark new joy.

Great Resource for Now and Later

Great little resource with some ideas I had not considered. Love the ideas as inexpensive ways to stay engaged, no just for later in retirement, but for all phases. Read through it and plan to use it as a reference as well.

This book is amazing. There are so many great ideas of how to keep retirement from being boring and short. An active mind is a healthy mind. Even if you don’t think you have time to do anything you read in this book, just reading it alone will give you a lot of laughs and something to plan for once the other stuff runs out.

Great Stay At Home Ideas

I enjoyed reading through the variety of activities that this book offered for those stay at home, home bodies. The ideas range from crafts to games to garden work. If you have grandchildren that come to visit, many of these fun hobbies can be incorporated with the little ones. This would make a great present for someone newly retired or thinking about retiring.

Who Thought There Could Be So Many Fun Things to Do From Home?

I purchased the first two books in this retirement series and loved them. This third book is especially helpful for those who don’t need or want to travel extensively. I traveled extensively for work and now just love waking up in my own bed and not have to go anywhere if I don’t want to. 154 Things to Do In Retirement From Home has introduced me to virtual museum tours, a retirement vision board, and choosing an author to read everything that person has written, in order of publication. So much fun! I highly recommend this book.

Fun, Inspiring, and Practical

Even though I’m far from retirement, I absolutely loved this book and the author’s writing style. With a sense of humor, creativity and practicality, Veronica Goldspiel guides readers through making retirement a fulfilling and rewarding new chapter in life, demonstrating on every page that retirement can be a wonderful adventure, filled with new activities and experiences. From simple pleasures to learning new languages, the author’s comprehensive list has something for everyone, regardless of their budget or preferences. If you’re feeling bored and uninspired in retirement, get this book and transform this phase of life into something meaningful, enjoyable, and rewarding.

Great Idea!

I picked this up for my grandmother, and she has told me she is loving it. There are so many activities that can be done at home for those who don’t want to go far or leave at all. I was surprised at how many things can be done virtually. Great idea.
